Hello, I'd like to use a 4K display with a 2009 mac pro (4,1) so I'll need a new videocard.. Once you get past that shakeout period, you should pay close attention to the new-device notifications. Click

If I wanted to buy one of the NEC or Dell wide-gamut 4K monitors, AND wanted to purchase a pre-2013 Mac Pro did any of them come with GPUs that could support 4k? If not, do you have any recommendations?.. So far I have found this: but it's sold out or discontinued Then I found this page with some recommendations: I'm just not sure how up-to-date these cards are and if they support a 4K resolution.. Thanks for the replies and suggestions Sorry to say that I've changed my mind and abandoned the project.. 2014-11-10 - Related:, Will R writes: I love the site and your exhaustive reviews! I cant find an answer to this question and wonder if I havent looked in the right place. HERE

Can I just use any modern video card with a DisplayPort connector? Any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated!Nov 26, 2017  I wanted an inexpensive way for my 2010 Mac Pro with original stock Radeon HD 5770 video cards to drive a 4K TV as a computer monitor.. I would make 3 suggestions as to what you might do: Find a used EVGA Nvidia GTX 680 Mac edition.. Some of the higher power GTX 680s will over-draw (up to 300 watts), which can cause stability issues, or even harm to your Mac Pro.. Avast free antivirus for mac Wi-Fi Inspector offers notification, but no direct way to act on that information.. You need to download the nVidia web drivers for OS X, and you won't see a boot screen (the screen will remain black until the drivers are loaded- sometime around the point where your login appears). 3

I'm normally not really into fiddling with hardware but this seems easy enough Performance doesn't need to be state of the art, I just want to run a 4K display in some kind of retina mode for development work.. If you determine that the new connection isn't legitimate, there's not a lot you can do about it. 34bbb28f04 HERE

If you don't recognize the device, it could be a neighbor mooching your Wi-Fi, or even a hack attempt.. You also need to be careful about power draw, as you don't want to go over about 250watts maximum draw from your video card in the Mac Pro.. The drawback is price, as they typically run in the neighborhood of $500-$600 That being said, being the latest/greatest, they should stay 'fresh' for quite a while longer than the 3-year-old GTX 680 will.
